It’s finally happening, Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S25 Edge slim phone in a few hours, and you can watch the launch live stream.
Samsung originally teased this new S25 model way back in January at Unpacked with its siblings, but we’ve been waiting for it ever since. The firm has been pretty quiet about the specifics while showing off the design at events like MWC.
We know it’s got a thin design, which Samsung says is “an engineering marvel”, and one of the rear cameras is officially 200Mp, but there are plenty more things we want to know about the S25 Edge – three things in particular you can read about below.
There’s not long to wait after some delays, as the official announcement will take place on 12/13 May, depending on where you are.
In the US, the event (not technically an Unpacked) kicks off at 8pm EDT on 12 May. That’s 1am BST (UK time) on 13 May, so get the kettle on.
You can easily watch the live stream as we’ve embedded it below.

3 things we want to know from the S25 Edge launch
We’ll find out from the horse’s mouth everything about the Galaxy S25 Edge, but there are three things in particular that we’re keen to find out.
1. How thin is the S25 Edge?
There are various rumours, but this design hinges around the slim profile. It seems to be less than 6mm, but we want to know exactly.
And as a related note, how much it weighs, as that could be a big factor in desirability and standing out from the phone crowd.
2. What’s the S25 Edge made of?
Again, various rumours have floated around about the S25 Edge’s material makeup, including a titanium frame and a ceramic glass not found on any of the other models.
That would be an interesting selling point but is the rumoured Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the back as well as the front?
3. How much does the S25 Edge cost?
Finally, that critical piece of information which heavily influences whether we recommend a phone and what rivals it’s up against.
It’s generally agreed that it will sit between the S25+ and S25 Ultra, placing it at £999/$999.99 to £1,249/$1,299.99.
Samsung accidentally leaked prices in Canada at CAD$1,678 for the 256GB model and CAD$1,858 for 512GB.
However, converting those figures to £900/$1,200 and £1,010/$1,350 isn’t likely to be very accurate.
Samsung is likely to keep the price reveal to the end of the presentation, but we should be able to tick it off anyway and you can already save £100 off the S25 Edge by reserving one.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is something of a landmark launch in the smartphone market as it may well kick off a new breed of slim phones – if that’s even what anyone wants, when you consider the possible downsides, such as far less room for a decent battery.
