If you’re looking to catch NFL RedZone this Sunday, it’s never been easier. You don’t even need a cable or satellite TV subscription. We’ll show you all your options.
NFL RedZone is finally available without device restrictions through an NFL+ Premium subscription, which means you can watch the whip-around action not just on phones and tablets, but also on smart TVs and streaming dongles like Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Roku, and the like. (Here’s where you’ll find our media streamer top picks). But depending on what other services you pay for, a standalone NFL RedZone subscription may not be the best option.
Update, August 29, 2024: This entire story has been refreshed for the 2024 NFL season.
Here are all the ways to get NFL RedZone without cable:
How to get NFL RedZone by itself

Jared Newman / Foundry
To get NFL RedZone on a standalone basis, you must sign up for NFL+ Premium, which in 2024 costs $15 per month or $100 for a full year. After subscribing to NFL+ Premium, you can watch NFL RedZone through the NFL app on Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Xbox consoles, Android devices, iPhones, and iPads.
NFL+ includes some other benefits as well: You can watch any game live on phones and tablets, listen to live game audio, watch a live stream of the NFL Network channel on all devices, and watch on-demand video from NFL Films. The Premium tier, which is required to get NFL RedZone, also includes replays of all regular season games—both full and condensed—which become available after the live telecast is over.
Be aware that neither NFL+ nor NFL+ Premium let you watch live games on your TV, except for the small number of games that are exclusive to the NFL Network.
How much does NFL RedZone cost?
The service costs $15 per month or $100 per year. (NFL RedZone only airs for four months, so the monthly option is cheaper, provided you remember to cancel when the regular season ends.)
Who it’s for: If you don’t subscribe to a big pay TV package, NFL+ Premium will be the cheapest way to watch RedZone. It also pairs well with an over-the-air antenna (read TechHive’s top antenna picks), which will cover most local and nationally televised games . It might even be an acceptable substitute for NFL Sunday Ticket; while you won’t get full access to every out-of-market game, RedZone’s whip-around coverage will show you the best parts of those games for a whole lot less.
Add NFL RedZone to your TV streaming bundle
If you already subscribe to a live TV streaming service such as Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, or DirecTV Stream, adding NFL RedZone will be cheaper than paying for NFL+ on a standalone basis. Most of these services offer RedZone as part of a broader sports add-on that also includes some other channels. Here’s a roundup of those options and their total costs, including whatever add-on you need for NFL RedZone:
- Sling TV Blue: $51 per month with Sling Blue and Sports Extra; $70 per month with Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sports Extra. (Note that Sling does not carry CBS and lacks local channels outside of some major cities.)
- YouTube TV: $84 per month with Sports Plus add-on.
- Hulu + Live TV $87 per month with the Sports add-on, rising to $93 per month on October 17.
- DirecTV Stream: Starts at $95 per month with Sports Pack add-on.
- FuboTV: $103 per month, including regional sports fees and Sports Plus add-on. (The regional sports fee might be higher in some markets.)
Who it’s for: This route is for users who want NFL RedZone along with a big bundle of cable and broadcast channels, but don’t need NFL Sunday Ticket’s out-of-market games.
Get NFL RedZone with NFL Sunday Ticket

YouTube
Last year, NFL Sunday Ticket moved from DirecTV over to YouTube, with RedZone as an optional add-on. These RedZone feeds are now hosted by Scott Hanson; former DirecTV RedZone host Andrew Siciliano is out.
We have a separate article breaking down YouTube’s various Sunday Ticket options and discounts, but here’s the cost if you want to bundle RedZone:
- NFL Sunday Ticket via YouTube: Watch all out-of-market games for $479, plus an extra $40 for RedZone.
- NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube TV: $73 per month for YouTube TV, plus $379 for a full season of Sunday Ticket, plus $11 per month for the Sports Plus add-on with RedZone. This gets most local, national, and out-of-market games (except Amazon Prime’s Thursday exclusives and Netflix’s Christmas Day games).
You can sign up for any of these packages through YouTube’s website. Verizon customers can also save more on NFL Sunday Ticket, although some caveats apply.
Who it’s for: Bundling NFL RedZone with NFL Sunday Ticket makes sense if you primarily want live access to out-of-market NFL games, but also want RedZone’s whip-around coverage.
Getting NFL RedZone with cable? Don’t pay more!

One last reminder: If you’re already paying for NFL RedZone through your cable bundle, you can stream the channel for free through the NFL app on phones, tablets, and TV devices. Do not pay extra for NFL+ Premium just to watch RedZone, no matter how many splash screens the NFL app throws in your face.
Instead, dig into the NFL app’s settings page and look for the “TV provider” login option:
- In the NFL mobile app: After dismissing any annoying splash screens, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner. Scroll down to “Connected Accounts,” then select “Connect” next to “TV Provider.” Choose your provider from the list, then enter your login credentials.
- In the NFL app for TVs: Dismiss the obnoxious NFL+ sign-up prompt. Scroll down to the gear icon, select “TV and streaming providers,” click “Sign in with TV provider,” and choose your provider from the list.
Now, you can stream NFL RedZone without any additional subscriptions. You’ll also be able to watch local and nationally televised games without an NFL+ subscription.
