Events like the Winter Olympics might be over but there’s still plenty of sport to enjoy in 2018. The Commonwealth Games kick off on 4 April and here’s how you can watch all the action online for free.
Commonwealth Games 2018 dates
The Commonwealth Games will take place between 4-15 April and will be held across the Gold Coast Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville in Australia.
This year more than 6,500 athletes will compete from 71 nations and there will be 18 sports and seven para-sports. View the

Beach Volleyball, Para Triathlon and Women’s Rugby Sevens will make their Commonwealth Games debuts. This year there is also an equal number of men’s and women’s medals.
How to watch online for free
It all begins with the opening ceremony which starts at 10am BST in the UK. Then you can watch all the sport over the following days. Due to the time difference, most coverage starts at 11pm BST.
It’s easy to watch a live stream online for free if you live in the UK because the BBC is hosting coverage.
You can watch on the
BBC Sport website and
app as well the
BBC iPlayer with coverage on BBC One. There’s also the option to listen on
Radio 5 live and follow text updates online.
