If you’re an iPhone user, you might think that Google’s AI-powered Gemini is just for Android users, but that’s not the case.
While it’s true that Gemini is more deeply integrated into Google’s own ecosystem, iOS users can still take full advantage of this smart assistant.
In fact, Google has been expanding Gemini’s features on iPhones, making it more accessible and useful than ever.

Simply start typing or speaking your request. You can ask it questions, get summaries of articles, generate text, or even brainstorm ideas. And you’ll be able to speak to it in ordinary, conversational language.
What’s more, instead of opening the app every time you want to use Gemini, you can now access it with just a tap from your lock screen. Google has recently added six different widgets to make your interactions with Gemini quicker and more seamless.
The first is the ‘Type prompt’, which lets you enter a quick text-based query straight from the lock screen. The second is ‘Open mic’, allowing you to talk to Gemini instead of typing. The third is the ‘Talk Live’ feature, which gives you direct access to a live conversation with Gemini.

The fourth widget is ‘Use camera’, letting you snap a photo and ask Gemini questions about what’s in the image. The fifth is ‘Share image’, which enables you to send an image from your gallery for Gemini to analyse. Lastly, the ‘Share file’ widget allows you to send a general file to Gemini for insights or assistance.
If you’re someone who wants AI assistance often, you can even assign all six widgets to your lock screen. You can place up to four widgets under the clock and two in the bottom left and right corners for quick access.
