Mi CES 2017: What did Xiaomi launch at CES 2017?
Ahead of CES 2017 Xiaomi was posting to social media teasers of what it had in store for its first ever CES stint, and it quickly became obvious that top of its list was a white
Mi Mix. More surprising, though, was its unveiling of a new Mi TV 4 and Mi Router HD.

Mi CES 2017: Mi Mix in white
The revolutionary new
Mi Mix is a concept phone with a bezel-less 6.4in screen, ultrasonic distance sensor, bottom-mounted mini selfie camera and cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology.
We’ve been using the Mi Mix for a few weeks now (
reviewed here) and it’s an amazing phone. We love the ceramic body and 18K gold camera and fingerprint scanner surrounds, and have been wowed by the performance of the Snapdragon 821 chip, 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
Previously available only in black, at CES 2017 Xiaomi announced a new variant of the entry-level Mi Mix in white. This version is available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and will be available in China later this year. (Note that this version doesn’t include the 18K gold detailing of our
review model.)
Mi CES 2017: Mi Router HD
The Router HD is a global-class wireless router with smart features. It’s a 4×4 MIMO router that can handle transfer speeds of up to 2600Mbps.There are four high-gain PCB array antennae, and a built-in hard drive of either 1TB or 8TB. The Router HD can automatically back up your devices, and it plays happily with Time Machine, Dropbox and Sonos.
The Mi Router HD will be available in China in Q1 with the 1TB costing under $200 and the 8TB version under $500.
Mi CES 2017: Mi TV 4
Star of the show was the new Mi TV 4 smart TV, which at 4.9mm is its thinnest yet and thinner even than a smartphone! The Mi TV 4 is a great-looking TV with a virtually bezel-less display and a transparent stand that makes the TV appear to be mounted on the wall. As one of the world’s first to support Dolby Atmos it offers great-sounding audio too.
A modular design separates the TV display from the electronics (the two are connected via a single cable called the Mi Port), which means it can be upgraded simply by swapping out the Mi TV Bar. This is a soundbar with 10 speakers and two wireless rear satellite speakers.
The Mi TV 4 is available in three sizes: 49in, 55in and 65in, and all three will cost less than $2000 when they become available in China later this year.
